  • Managing complexity

The university system is often highly structured and complex, with educational offerings that are frequently fragmented and shared among different degree programmes.
Adding to this complexity are the needs  of various stakeholders: lecturers , who typically have preferences regarding the time and location of their lessons; students , who favour compact and evenly distributed timetables throughout the week; and departments, which must often contend with limited classroom availability .
EasyCourse supports university administrative staff by managing this complexity  and facilitating the organisation and management of lessons, while taking into account the many variables involved.

  • Flexibility across different timetabling models

EasyCourse can handle both cases where the department/school’s academic office requires lesson timetables  to follow a standard “typical week”  (from Monday to Friday/Saturday), and cases where timetables vary significantly from one week to another , that  is particularly common in contexts where the educational offer includes numerous short modules with a limited number of credits, whose lessons are completed within just a few weeks.

  • Management of lecturers’ preferences

EasyCourse provides a web-based system through which lecturers can submit their preferences  — including requests for consecutive teaching days for commuters, indication of unfavourable time slots, and preferred classrooms.
